Large crater appears at the 'end of the world'

Helicopters discovered this unexplainable opening in the northern region of Russia on Tuesday and investigators are on their way to examine the location , claims the Siberian Times .

The hole estimated to be over 250ft wide is positioned in the Yamal peninsula , the area affectionately which means that the “end of the world .” A scientist speculates that worldwide heating along with natural fuel lines might have created the yawning cavity in the world .

 Anna Kurchatova from Siberia’s Sub-Arctic Scientific Examination Centre states the crater was due to an explosion where a combination of water , salt and organic gas exploded underground . Global warming , she states , has triggered the permafrost in Siberia to melt at an enhanced pace , putting pressure on the organic gas reserves .

Yamal officials are looking at the opening alongside two experts from the Center for the Research of the Arctic and one from the Cryosphere Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences .
